Eighth-graders win essay contest

Students from two Omaha Catholic schools earned first- and third-place honors in the Omaha Legal Professionals Association’s 2014 Law Day Essay Contest, which drew more than 120 entries from Omaha-area eighth-graders.

Writing on the theme "Why Every Vote Matters," Patrick Hickey of St. Cecilia School and Natalie Harsh of Mary Our Queen School were honored at a Law Day Luncheon May 9 in Omaha. Hickey won $150 for first place and Harsh won $100 for third.
