Foster care children get help from students

Students at St. Robert Bellarmine School in Omaha packed in a lot for their Lenten service project: filling 18 new, 40-inch duffel bags with personal items for children going into emergency foster care.

Donated by area Target stores, the bags will be distributed through Omaha-based PromiseShip, which works to preserve and strengthen families.

School officials said they were proud to help foster the dignity of children who often must leave their homes with few possessions and little more than a trash bag in which to put them.
