Guardian Angels Central Catholic welcomes new president

Andrew Bradley is the new president of Guardian Angels Central Catholic (GACC) in West Point.

“I am tremendously excited for me and my family to join the Guardian Angels Central Catholic community,” Bradley said. “During our time in West Point, my wife and I were impressed by the school and its stakeholders. We were warmly welcomed, and we are excited to be a part of The Nest.”

The role of lay president was created when the GACC school board transitioned to a Board of Limited Jurisdiction in January. The change in governance model was made to position the school for long-term success and ensure the viability of the PK-12 school system.

Prior to the transition, the pastor of St. Mary Catholic Church was the president of GACC. The shift to a lay president will alleviate some of the administrative responsibilities of the pastor, who will remain a director of the school board.

“I’m looking forward to Mr. Bradley joining ‘The Nest’ and leading GACC in continuing to fulfill our mission of preparing all students to reach their fullest potential by learning and leading through Christ,” said Father James Weeder, pastor of St. Mary Catholic Church.

Bradley began his career as an educator at a Catholic mission school on the Navajo Nation. Most recently, he was principal of Aquinas Middle and High School in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

Bradley received his undergraduate degree from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. He holds master’s degrees in secondary education and educational leadership from the University of New Mexico and Arizona State University, respectively.

Bradley began his duties at GACC on July 1. One of his first priorities is to lead a strategic planning process.
