Married couples to be honored at celebrations in Norfolk and Omaha

The Archdiocese of Omaha is once again honoring married couples in northeast Nebraska with upcoming events in Norfolk and Omaha.

All married couples are invited to the annual marriage celebration at St. Mary Church in Norfolk on Sunday, August. 27. Couples marking milestone anniversaries, more recently married couples and all other witnesses to Holy Matrimony are encouraged to attend.

“Marriage is such a beautiful vocation that gives us an image of heaven,” said Jodi Phillips of the archdiocese’s parish support team and the event organizer. “It is always so special to celebrate with couples living out this vocation, many 40, 50, and 60+ years. I’m so thankful for their witness and the opportunity to honor them!”

A rosary will be offered at 2 p.m., followed by Mass celebrated by Archbishop George J. Lucas at 2:30 p.m. A reception in the Sacred Heart Parish Center will follow.

The celebration will take place in Omaha on Sept. 10 at St. Cecilia Cathedral.

Couples are asked to register for either event here. Contact Jodi Phillips at (402) 558-3100 or email jmphillips@archomaha.org.
