Mercy High prepares for annual fundraiser

People are encouraged to wear masks and other Mardi Gras apparel at Mercy High School’s "Mercy Gras FIESTA 2017."

The Omaha school’s largest fundraiser will be held Feb. 25 at the Embassy Suites conference center in La Vista. It will include a 5 p.m. Mass, silent and live auctions, dinner and a $10,000 raffle drawing.

Ingrid Kalinowski Borghoff will be honored as winner of the school’s annual Cor Misericordiae Award. The 1965 Mercy High graduate led the school’s alumnae and advancement activities for more than 25 years. Borghoff retired in 2012 as vice president of advancement, and her achievements included co-founding the school’s annual Golf Fest, establishing an annual fund program, reinvigorating the Alumnae Council and orchestrating several capital campaigns.

Cost is $125 per person (graduates and their guests are $75 each). The money will help the school fund its individualized tuition plan, which last year provided $1.6 million in assistance to 82 percent of school families.
