More than 230 attend chastity event

A multi-media show featuring music, comedy, drama and witness talks encouraging purity and abstaining from sex until marriage drew 237 people to a conference center in Omaha Nov. 5.

Sponsored by Nebraskans United for Life, the Silver Ring Thing Live Event had teenagers attending the show and parents in a separate gathering learning more about today’s youth culture and how to support their children’s commitment to chastity.

More than 40 teens purchased "purity rings" symbolizing their commitment, and organizers gave five rings to those in need. Seven parents purchased their own rings to remind them to continue talking with their children, said Kristan Gray, executive director of Nebraskans United for Life, in a letter to supporters of the program.

"Please continue to pray for those who made decisions to walk in purity with Christ, that they stay strong and walk in God’s will for their lives," the letter said.
