Omaha native celebrates 60 years as a priest

Redemptorist Father Martin Stillmock, an Omaha native, will celebrate 60 years a priest with a Redemptorist gathering June 14 at St. Clement Health Care Center in Liguori, Mo.
 
Father Stillmock was pastor of Holy Name Parish in Omaha from 1987 to 1993, and his parents were founding members of St. Stanislaus Parish in Omaha. His sister, Sister of St. Francis Rose Ann Stillmock, was the principal for many years of then-Immaculate Conception and then-St. Stanislaus schools in Omaha.
 
Prior to Holy Name, Father Stillmock was pastor of parishes in Wichita, Kan., and Davenport, Iowa. He was a seminary professor for the Redemptorists from 1961 to 1972.
 
He served several times as local superior of Redemptorist communities where he lived, including from 1999 to 2008 while assigned to St. Alphonsus Parish in Minneapolis from 1993 until his retirement in 2009. He continued to live in Minneapolis until 2015, when he moved to the order’s Mission House in Liguori.
