Parish men’s club to restore field house

The Holy Name Parish Men’s Club hopes to raise $5 million to “Restore the Glory” to the parish’s field house, which hosted its first high school basketball game 68 years ago and is falling into disrepair.

Plans include building a new community center with multi-use meeting rooms and a parish hall of history to connect Holy Name School to the field house, said James Goodman, president of the men’s club.

Field house renovations will include a new gym floor for community, school and parish activities, a kitchen for special events and concessions and new locker rooms and restrooms. Heating and air conditioning, insulated windows and a new roof with proper insulation also are in the plans, Goodman said.

Websites are being prepared for information and donation opportunities at restoretheglory.info and holynamemensclub.org, or contact Goodman at j.goodman@live.com or 402-321-9703.
