Omaha native marks 25 years as priest

Jesuit Father John Montag will celebrate 25 years as a priest with a Mass at the parish where he grew up, St. Adalbert Church in Omaha.

 

Now part of Our Lady of Lourdes-St. Adalbert Parish, the church will be the site for a 9:30 a.m. June 11 Mass and reception. 

 

Fluent in Spanish, Father Montag served as an associate pastor from about 2013 to 2016 at St. Joseph, St. Frances Cabrini, then-St. Patrick and Assumption-Guadalupe parishes in Omaha. He also has served in parishes in Europe and around the country, currently in Los Angeles.

 

Reflecting on 25 years of priestly service, Father Montag said he has been blessed, and he is particularly grateful for people’s kindness and goodness.
