Parish merger announcement

As a continuation of local Journey of Faith planning and to best meet the needs of the area, Archbishop George J. Lucas and Fr. James Keiter share the following announcement of a parish merger in Our Catholic Family of Parishes (Rural Family B):

By decree of His Excellency George J. Lucas, and in accord with canons 515, §2 and 121 of the Code of Canon Law, and in consultation with the Archdiocese of Omaha Council of Priests according to the norm of law (canons 515 §2 and 127), St. William Parish in Niobrara, St. Wenceslaus Parish in Verdigre, St. Ludger Parish in Creighton, St. Ignatius Parish in Brunswick, and St. Andrew Parish in Bloomfield are merged and the new parish, Holy Angels Parish, is erected, effective July 1, 2024, with a concern for the care of souls and to ensure the vitality of parish life in the area.
