PHOTOS: School honors Our Lady of Guadalupe on her feast

Students, staff and school families from the Dual Language Academy, part of the Omaha Catholic School Consortium, went all out in celebrating the Dec. 12 Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe.

Archbishop Emeritus George J. Lucas and Father Frank Jindra offered Mass at St. Joan of Arc Church, adjacent to the school. A girls choir and the mariachi band Mariachi Tradición Jaliscience provided music for the Mass.

Following the Mass, Aztec dancers – from Danza Santa Maria of Assumption-Guadalupe Parish in Omaha – performed. Students then re-enacted Our Lady’s encounter with St. Juan Diego in 1531.
