Pizza dinner raises funds for refugees

Selling two slices of pizza, a drink and a cookie for $5 – salads were $1 – helped fourth-graders in St. Margaret Mary Parish’s religious education program raise more than $300 to assist refugee families sponsored by the Omaha parish.

The program’s 12th annual pizza fundraising dinner March 29 was led by catechist Sue Seline’s fourth-grade class for the more than 50 religious education students and their families. Students presented a $330 check June 8 to Deacon Marty Smith, coordinator of the parish’s refugee services.
