Polish Heritage Society to hold fundraiser

The Polish Heritage Society of Nebraska will hold its annual dinner and beer sampling fundraiser for scholarships Sept. 30, at the Polish Home Belvedere Hall, in Papillion.

Proceeds go to the group’s St. John Paul II Scholarship Fund to benefit students of Polish descent who plan to attend an Omaha-area Catholic high school in 2017.

The "Bigos and Beer" event will feature a sampling of six Polish and eastern European beers, and a Polish meal including bigos (Polish hunter’s stew), pierogi (filled dumplings), Polish sausage, salads, desserts and soft drinks, accompanied by traditional songs and toasts.

The adults-only event begins at 6:30 p.m. with doors opening at 6 p.m. Cost is $25 per person. For reservations, contact the Polish Home at 402-592-5117 or polishhomeomaha@qwestoffice.net and leave a message.
