School celebrates ‘Forgiveness Friday’

Students and staff at St. James/Seton School in Omaha celebrated "Forgiveness Friday" March 31 as part of their Lenten journey.

A special service at St. James Church included William Kelly, the principal, Father Tobias Letak, associate pastor, and seventh- and eighth-grade religion teacher Eric Westra talking about forgiveness as a blessing from God, and the need to share that blessing with others.

Later in each classroom, teachers talked about the need to practice forgiveness, Kelly said. The special service and other efforts appeared to help the students remember and respond to the lessons, he said.
