March 5, 2025
Spirit Catholic Radio has a new co-host for its local “Spirit Mornings” show.
Damian Montez began as co-host on Feb. 28, replacing longtime co-host Bruce McGregor, who stepped down the week before.
Montez joins Jen Brown on the show, which airs weekdays from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. Brown has co-hosted the program since 2013.
Montez, who also serves as production manager for the radio network, has more than 25 years of experience in the radio field, including four years at Spirit Catholic.

“Jen and I go way back,” Montez shared in a press release. “We actually worked together years ago at other radio stations. I feel very blessed to be on this new journey with her and saying what the Holy Spirit guides us to say to bring our listeners closer to Christ. I get to have the best of both worlds every day – my faith and radio!”
“The chemistry on the Jen and Damian team is infectious, said Valeri McMahon, marketing director for the radio station.
Montez, a native Omahan, attended the former St. Richard Catholic School in Omaha and is currently a member of St. Philip Neri-Blessed Sacrament Parish in Omaha.
He and his wife, Jas, have been married since 2006.
“Spirit Mornings” is a live show that offers Catholic news, local news and weather, and interviews with locally and nationally known guests. The program dives into the Bible, provides a Catholic perspective on current issues, points listeners to Catholic resources and events, raises awareness of community needs and provides ways for people to help.
Spirit Catholic Radio can be heard in Omaha and the surrounding area at 102.7 FM, in Columbus at 99.3 FM, Norfolk at 88.3 FM and O’Neill at 91.5 FM. The network’s broadcasts can also be heard through the free Spirit Catholic Radio app, live online streaming and more.
