Student walk raises $10,000

More than 150 students – from preschoolers to eighth-graders – walked up to two miles May 7 to help raise more than $10,000 for St. Philip Neri School’s Home and School Association.

Carrying May baskets filled with coffee mugs sporting the school name, bouquets of candy and other gifts, students at the Omaha school visited area sponsors of the annual walk-a-thon such as Harold’s Koffee House and Tussey’s Casual Grill.

The association will use the money to help fund school field trips, scholarships, teachers’ insurance and other needs.
