Teacher to be honored at NCEA convention
April 18, 2019
Science and math teacher Helen Peyton of St. Bernard School in Omaha is among 42 teachers nationwide to be honored with the 2017 "Lead, Learn, Proclaim," award from the National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA).
The award honors teachers who demonstrate a strong Catholic educational philosophy, exceptional ability, dedication and results.
Peyton and the other teachers will be recognized during the annual NCEA Convention & Expo April 18-20 in St. Louis, Mo.
"Science and nature are revelations of God’s glory and power, and we need to look at the world with ‘fresh eyes’ to see and appreciate this," said Peyton, who has taught at St. Bernard for 40 years.
