Learn about, support pro-life measures at Grand Island coffee event

The Sixth Annual Pro-Life Coffee in Grand Island will be an opportunity to learn about pro-life legislation and issues in Nebraska.

Several state senators are expected to the event, scheduled for Feb. 15, from 9 a.m. to 11 am., at Riverside Golf Club, 2820 Riverside Drive in Grand Island.

Bishop Joseph G. Hanefeldt of the Diocese of Grand Island said the event holds importance in the continuing pro-life legislative fight in Nebraska.

“State senators from our region have made it a priority the past few years to attend our pro-life gathering,” he said in a press release. “This is a great opportunity for us to thank them for their leadership and encourage them to continue to lend their support for the protection of our preborn children in Nebraska.

“As St. John Paul II, reminds us, we have a duty to make courageous choices in support of life, especially through legislative measures.

The ecumenical event is free and open to the public. Sponsors include the Diocese of Grand Island, Grand Island Right to Life, Nebraska Catholic Conference, Nebraska Family Alliance, Nebraska Right to Life, Shoot 4 Life and South Central Nebraska Right to Life.

Doors open at 8:30 a.m. Refreshments and a light breakfast will be provided. RSVPs for the Pro-Life Coffee are requested but not required.
