Mercy High senior is National Merit finalist

Hanna Stec, a senior at Mercy High School and member of St. Vincent de Paul Parish, both in Omaha, has been named a finalist in the 2019 National Merit Scholarship Program.

She was named a National Merit Scholarship semifinalist last fall and is now among students who are eligible for 7,500 merit scholarships nationally.

Stec is a member of National Honor Society, show choir, Mercy High Singers, and serves as a student representative on the Nebraska Thespians state board. She is actively involved in the school’s theater productions and has received numerous academic and performing arts awards. 

Stec is interested in math and plans to study aerospace engineering in college next fall.
